What is Reiki?

    Reiki is an ancient system of natural healing that originated in Japan. It is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on healing technique that promotes healing in the physical and energetic body on an emotional, mental, spiritual and physical level. The Reiki energy breaks up qi (energy) stagnations which occur through unprocessed stress, trauma, injury and emotions (the flotsam of life). The Reiki restores the natural qi flow to the body thus healing the areas of stagnation which may have presented as physical (aches, pains illnesses) or mental symptoms (stress and anxiety).

    I am privileged to be part of the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki lineage. This is a very pure lineage which is directly traced back to Dr Mikao Usui, whose personal search to understand healing led him to develop Reiki. My teacher, Reiki Master, Victoria Lyons is 8th in this lineage and I have been fortunate to learn these ancient techniques under her infinite wisdom and guidance at her world-renowned centre for excellence, Lendrick Lodge, in Scotland.

What to expect

Reiki energy has no restrictions, therefore you have the choice of visiting me in my relaxing treatment room or as a distant treatment in the comfort of your own home. The session will be carried out in the same way, beginning with a short consultation followed by the treatment itself. During the treatment, which will take place fully clothed, I will place my hands gently on or slightly away from the body, on the main healing centres covering the head, front and back of body as well as any specific areas that may be in need. The Reiki will flow to where it is required and will continue to do so for sometime after your session.

Reiki is a very gentle energy and a session is usually very relaxing and calming. It can be the perfect way to treat to yourself or a loved one to have some well-deserved time out and a refresh.

For any specific issues or long term illness it is recommended that treatments are carried out once a week initially with maintenance once a month thereafter.

For general maintenance and well-being a monthly session or one every few weeks is preferable.
