Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) is an extremely simple yet effective technique for regulating emotions in the body and releasing stress and tension. It is the ultimate ‘brain hack’ that switches off the fight, flight, freeze, fawn response that is triggered when we encounter stressful situations. By gently tapping on different meridian points on the body we can send a signal to the amygdala in the brain that we are now safe, thus lowering adrenaline and cortisol in the blood. These techniques have the ability to rewire the brain and reduce stress and anxiety, relieve pain, improve sleep, stop limiting beliefs and phobias and break patterns of addiction. Whether you are experiencing physical pain or illness, emotional symptoms such as stress and anxiety or simply feeling like you are ‘stuck’ and need a shift in perspective in order to progress in life, EFT can help to find the limiting beliefs that are holding you back and creating the blocks in your energy field.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN AN EFT SESSION

Sessions can either take place online or in my treatment room. We will have a short discussion, after which I will guide you through the tapping techniques whilst you are focusing upon an emotion or particular problem or situation you want to work on. This technique allows you to gently unpick the issue that you are dealing with, gradually reducing the emotions that are trapped within the body’s energy system, thus switching off the stress responses in the body. Your body is able to get back into balance and your brain is able to process the issues that you have been facing whether it be from a recent experience or as a result of long-standing core memories and beliefs.

Due to the nature of this technique, shifts can take place relatively quickly, memories of stressful situations will still be there but without the emotional responses in the body (freeze, flight, fight, fawn). Thus allowing your body’s energy to flow as it should and ultimately heal.

The technique is one you can take away with you, putting it into practice in your every day life so that you are better equipped to manage daily stresses and over-whelm.
